Hi, I am Carisa Joy, I'm a self-taught photographer who began my career shooting 35mm film—starting with cars and eventually discovering a true passion for photographing people. That shift led me to a job at a local portrait studio, where I was lucky to learn from an incredible mentor. She taught me not only how to photograph babies and children but how to connect with them—to bring out those genuine smiles.
I began saving for my first digital camera and soon joined Walters Photographic. There, I deepened my understanding of portrait equipment, lighting, and the technical side of photography. Over time, I learned every aspect of running a portrait business—from capturing images to handling data entry and production.
I absolutely love what I do and wouldn’t trade it for anything. Every session is a chance to tell someone’s story, and I feel honored to help preserve those memories.
